Frameworks Northwest is located at the corner of Taylor & Water Streets in the historic 1891 Port Townsend Mount Baker Block building. Built by one of the founders of Port Townsend, it is the only building in town with a Pergola (that's where you will find Frameworks picture frames .... down the steps of the Pergola). While here, visit the other retailers, galleries, eateries and treat yourself to some frozen yogurt!
Yup, Port Townsend has an "undertown" which has a long (and sordid) history. Frameworks is located in Undertown, along with The Candle Store, and Bad Boys Gallery. Don't forget your photos behind the floating frames in front of Frameworks. Oh, and you don't want to miss the Undertown Halloween!
So, parking can be a challenge here in Port Townsend. If you're needing to drop off, or pickup from Frameworks, we recommend the parking lot behind the shop. Enter the lot from Water St, off Tyler St. We have a loading and unloading area in the back of the building next to PT Cyclery. If you need help, just give us a call. There is also street parking off Washington.
Port Townsend is THE art center on this side of Puget Sound. Each year the town is written about in newspapers, magazines, travel and art guides. If you're visiting, plan your trip around the over 30 annual events, including the monthly art walk held on the first Saturday of each month.
Okay, so we might be a bit biased, but if you really want the best coffee in town then you must go to Getables at 810 Water Street (only 217 feet from Frameworks). Pat will make you a true Italian coffee, LaVazza. While you're there, you will also find quick snacks, fixings for a lunch on the beach, cards, gifts, beer, wine and cider.
We are asked all the time about places to eat while in town. It's hard to just list one, or even two! Some of our favorites include .... okay, so that would get us in trouble! Really, check out these links for some great places to eat: Port Townsend Mainstreet and Enjoy Port Townsend
There are over 30 different events each year in Port Townsend. Even we have to keep a "cheat sheet" so we remember them all. These links will make it easier .... Enjoy Port Townsend | PT Main Street | Fort Worden .... oh and of course The Northwest Maritime Center and Centrum.
Okay, so we "jokingly" say that it is a city law that you must have a dog in order to live in Port Townsend. However sometimes we're not so sure that we are joking around. Yes, PT is a MAJOR dog community. It is very common to find dogs walking their humans up and down the street, besides the local shop dogs. So don't be surprised to find a dog or two when shopping, grabbing a coffee, or even in Frameworks Northwest. If you're in need of an overnight dog sitter, contact Chris | Remember, please do not leave your dog locked in your car, it gets hotter than you might expect.
