Textile framing is one of the areas where working with a professional framing studio makes a significant difference in how the finished piece looks and how well it lasts over time.
Proper textile mounting prevents sagging, distortion, and long-term damage to delicate fibers.
Textiles, needlework, and fabric art require special care when framing. In our Port Townsend workshop, we use mounting techniques designed to support delicate materials while preserving their shape and structure over time.
From cross-stitch and embroidery to beaded work, fabric art, and cultural textiles, each piece is carefully mounted and framed to protect the work while presenting it beautifully.
Textile framing often requires custom mounting methods rather than adhesives or standard framing techniques. Depending on the piece, we may use hand-stitch mounting or other conservation methods that secure the textile while protecting the fabric.

• Cross-stitch
• Embroidery
• Fabric art
• Beaded pieces
• Needlework samplers
• Cultural textiles
• Quilted artwork
• Handmade fabric pieces
• Rugs & Tapestries
• Wedding Dresses
• ... and so much more

Textiles behave very differently from paper artwork. Proper framing helps prevent sagging, distortion, and long-term damage to the fabric.
Depending on the piece, framing may include:
• custom mounting support
• deeper frame profiles
• spacers to protect delicate surfaces
• UV-protective glazing
